About First Friday Lewes
First Friday Lewes is run on a voluntary basis by Robin Houghton of Eggbox Marketing. As someone who recognised the value of business networking, Robin was looking for a networking group in her home town which didn't involve large fees, sit down meals or heavy commitments. When she came across Steve Wilson's First Friday Network, she felt it was a model that could work well in Lewes, and set about starting it up.
The first meeting was held in Lewes on Friday 4th May 2007 and over 40 people came along. We still typically get 35 - 40 attendees each month.
Robin was previously involved in running Lewes Artisans, a web directory and membership organisation for local tradespeople, artists, makers, musicians and practitioners.
All meetings within the First Friday Network are aligned to each other but are quite individual. They serve the business community by way of offering a venue to network, promote, share and exchange ideas.
As well as monthly networking, all members are entitled to an entry on the First Friday Network online Business Directory, covering Sussex and parts of Hampshire. The network and the directory are expanding all the time - join us and you'll see why!
